Purposes

CTPS serves the community through exhibitions which reinforce the public’s appreciation of pastel as a fine art medium. CTPS seeks to enable each member to realize their full potential in art through workshops, programs, critiques, and fellowship.

Society History and Activities

CTPS was founded in September l997. Meetings are held the third Saturday of each month at the Windberg Art Center in Georgetown.

Events

CTPS sponsors member exhibitions, and contributes to scholarships for children to attend the Cultural Affairs Center’s summer art camp. Monthly meetings feature guest speakers and artist demos, as well as Challenge Paintings by members. The Member Exhibit and Competition is held each August at the Temple Cultural Affairs Center with judging and awards banquet followed by a two-day workshop with a guest artist/judge.

Membership Information

Our membership of 70 includes artists of all levels, student to professional, in modes from realistic to abstract. Annual dues are $30 individual, $45 family, $25 student and $25 senior.
