TERRI FORD

“My passion for pastels never subsides. It becomes more intense as I continue my journey with them. The very tactile nature of pastel in hand, the surface, with nothing in between continues to excite me. My work is driven by drama of light, and a poetic resonance in a subject.”

Terri Ford was inducted into the IAPS Master Circle in 2007. She is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America and a Distinguished Pastellist with the Pastel Society of the West Coast. Her work has been featured in The Pastel Journal, Amercian Artist, The Artists’s Magazine, International Artist, and fine art books including Plein Air New Mexico, The Richeson 75 Series and the Best of Pastel by Kennedy Publications.

Ford's award winning paintings have hung in The National Arts Club, TheTriton Museum of Art, The Butler Museum, The Los Gatos Museum among others, as well as countless private collections.

Both a studio and plein air painter, Fords subjects are primarily landscapes but also include architecture...bridges, barns, bell towers, missions, turrets and spires. Her paintings depict light conditions and atmosphere with evocative color and sensitivite but powerful strokes.

Ford is often simply recording the extraoridinary effect that light can bestow on seemingly oridinary things. Ford is an enthusiaitc and knowledgable instructor. She teaches workshops in the US and abroad and also provides private instruction.
